Independent Contractor:
- Set your own work hours
- Can work for multiple clients
- Does not have any benefits
- Can work from an location
- Pay for all equipment / software that is needed to work
- Can't apply for unemployment
- Can write off more expenses on taxed
- Generally don't work overtime
- You pay for background check if client ask
- There are no taxes taken out of check from client
Employee:
- Work scheduled hours
- Generally one works for one company at a time
- Has benefits from the company
- Can work from any location that is allowed by the company
- Company pay all cost for anything that is needed
- You can apply for unemployment
- Can work and receive overtime
- Should NOT have to pay for background check
- Taxes are taken out of check
